The Power and Potential of Positive Reinforcement
Positive Reinforcement can be a game changer for you and your horse. It allows you to partner with your horse, address problem behaviors, build trust and confidence, and create a more successful and enjoyable training and riding experience for both of you.
Our hands-on Foundations workshop is designed to set you up for success by teaching you the fundamentals to safely introduce positive reinforcement in your training or improve how you're already using it. Some of the tools you'll learn are establishing food manners, targeting, and basic shaping. We'll introduce you to Via Nova's 5 Principles of Priority to Positive®, so you have a clear, practical way to help your horse understand what you want. We'll also give you resources and ideas to work on common issues.
You will leave with new perspectives on training and new tools to enrich your horse's life and deepen your connection.
Continuing EducationThis workshop has been approved for CEUs through Karen Pryor Academy. Attendees may earn up to 8 KPA CEUs for the workshop.

Participants must attend the Thursday evening session, and both days of the workshop. If you cannot commit to the evening session and both days, please contact [email protected] to find out about other training opportunities from Via Nova.
Participants must arrive at 8:15 AM so the workshop can start at 8:30 AM. Via Nova will not provide transportation.
All training will be done with Via Nova horses; attendees may not bring their own horses onto the property.
The workshop includes hands-on demonstrations and interactions with horses at liberty; we require all participants to wear helmets when working with horses, so please bring your helmet if possible. We also require long pants and closed-toe hard-top footwear.
A signed workshop release form is required from all workshop participants. You will receive this in advance of the workshop and it must be returned to [email protected].
